Celebrate the Holidays with Christmas Tree Cookies

Christmas Tree Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 24 Hershey's Kisses unwrapped
  • Sprinkles for decoration optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix peanut butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
  7. Remove from the oven and immediately press a Hershey's Kiss into the center of each cookie.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Decorate with sprinkles if desired, while the kisses are still melty.
