Ingredients
  

  • 12 slices sandwich bread white, wheat, or rye
  • 6 slices deli ham or turkey, chicken, roast beef, or vegetarian alternative
  • 6 slices cheese cheddar, Swiss, or American
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise or cream cheese spread
  • Lettuce leaves optional
  • Ketchup mustard, or food-safe decorating gel (for RIP/cross designs)

Method
 

  1. Create a coffin-shaped template from cardboard or use a coffin-shaped cookie cutter.
  2. Cut each bread slice into coffin shapes (2 per sandwich).
  3. Spread mayonnaise or cream cheese on one side of the bread.
  4. Layer ham (or preferred deli meat), cheese, and lettuce if using.
  5. Top with another coffin-shaped bread slice to complete the sandwich.
  6. Decorate the top with ketchup, mustard, or edible decorating gel to write 'RIP' or draw a cross.
  7. Serve flat on a tray or stand them upright in greens or crumbs to resemble a spooky graveyard.
