Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cooked crab meat shredded
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup green onions chopped
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted (for sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the crab meat, cream cheese, lemon juice, and green onions until well combined.
  6. Scoop out about 1/4 cup of biscuit dough and flatten it slightly. Place about 1 tablespoon of the crab filling in the center, then fold the dough over to enclose the filling completely. Repeat for the remaining dough and filling.
  7. Place the stuffed biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
  9. While the biscuits cool, prepare the lemon butter sauce by combining melted butter, lemon zest, and parsley in a small bowl.
  10. Drizzle the lemon butter sauce over the biscuits just before serving.
