Delicious Copycat Applebee’s Honey Pepper Mac and Cheese

This Copycat Applebee’s Honey Pepper Mac and Cheese offers a creamy texture with a sweet and spicy twist, ideal for cozy gatherings and comforting meals.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly until smooth.
  5. Stir in the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses until melted.
  6. Add honey, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  7. Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  9. Sprinkle seasoned breadcrumbs over the top.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden and crispy.
  11. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
