Delightful Christmas Tree Cupcakes for Festive Cheer

Christmas Tree Cupcakes made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • 2 cups green icing or buttercream
  • Decorative edible ornaments candies, sprinkles

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition along with the vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the dry.
  7. Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with batter.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely on a wire rack before decorating.
  10. Once cooled, use the green icing to pipe the 'tree' shape onto each cupcake.
  11. Decorate with edible ornaments to complete the holiday look.
