Ingredients
  

  • 200 g almond flour
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • 120 g egg whites about 4 large eggs
  • 50 g granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Red and green food coloring
  • For the filling: 150g butter softened
  • 300 g powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp milk
  • Optional: festive sprinkles

Method
 

  1. Prepare the baking sheets and piping bags.
  2. Sift together almond flour and powdered sugar.
  3. Whip egg whites and granulated sugar.
  4. Fold in the dry ingredients.
  5. Add food coloring and pipe the macarons.
  6. Let the macarons rest.
  7. Bake the macarons.
  8. Prepare the buttercream filling.
  9. Assemble the macarons.
  10. Let them mature.
  11. Decorate with festive sprinkles.
