Elevate Your Thanksgiving with Marinated Turkey

Marinated Thanksgiving Turkey made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 whole turkey 12-14 lbs
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary chopped
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Method
 

  1. Prepare the marinade by combining all ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Place the turkey in a large resealable bag or a non-reactive container.
  3. Pour the marinade over the turkey, ensuring it's fully coated.
  4. Turn the turkey occasionally in the marinade.
  5. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
  6. Remove the turkey from the marinade and discard the marinade.
  7. Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a large roasting pan.
  8. Roast the turkey for about 3 to 3.5 hours, basting occasionally.
  9. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part.
  10. Let the turkey rest for at least 20-30 minutes before carving.
