Ingredients
  

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 6 slices of bacon chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or your choice
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: fresh herbs like chives or parsley chopped

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cook the chopped bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked bacon, shredded cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into squares (approximately 4x4 inches each).
  5. Place a spoonful of the cheese and bacon mixture in the center of each square.
  6. Fold the pastry squares over to form triangles and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
  7. Brush the tops of the turnovers with the beaten egg to enhance browning.
  8. Place the turnovers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
