The Delightful Charm of Japanese Dorayaki

Delight in the fluffy texture and sweet red bean filling of Japanese dorayaki, a cherished treat ideal for gatherings or a cozy afternoon snack.

Ingredients
  

  • 200 g all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp honey optional
  • 200 g sweet red bean paste
  • Cooking oil for the pan

Method
 

  1. Prepare the batter by whisking eggs and sugar.
  2. Sift the flour and baking powder together.
  3. Combine the dry ingredients with the egg mixture.
  4. Optional: Fold in honey.
  5. Rest the batter for 30 minutes.
  6. Heat a non-stick pan and lightly grease it with oil.
  7. Pour the batter into the pan and form small rounds.
  8. Flip and cook the other side until golden.
  9. Remove and fill with red bean paste.
  10. Serve fresh and enjoy your dorayaki.
